AFP - Indonesian sharia police are “morally rehabilitating” more than 60 young punk rock fans in Aceh province on Sumatra island, saying the youths are tarnishing the province’s image.

Since being arrested at a punk rock concert in the provincial capital Banda Aceh on Saturday night, 59 male and five female punk rock fans have been forced to have their hair cut, bathe in a lake, change clothes and pray.

And then they wonder why the kids of today are so angry.

This moral policing is sick making and unIslamic. Someone please tell me of even ONE instance when the Prophet (peace be upon him) ever forced ANYONE to conform like this, much less got a band of Sahabis together to physically abuse  people for the sake of conformity? The Prophet (peace be upon him) didn’t even do such things to non-believers - who he let live in peace in their own way as long as they weren’t actively harming Muslims - much less to treat Muslims in his community like this.

And ffs, this isn’t Sharia either. Sheesh…
