“Save” the “Pearls”

Okay here’s the thing, right…

So let’s take the assumption that Voyt makes as being essentially true: some kind of atmospheric catastrophe has caused for the sun’s light/heat/radiation to be more pronounced. The surface world is inhospitable to people with fair skin, who become sunburnt and dehydrated, and die in about two weeks of exposure(?) but otherwise it is possible to sustain human life for non-white peoples, and sustain argiculture. There is a centralised government.

So here’s how it goes down; in the period immediately after the catastrophe, those with the means to make their way into vase underground cities in order to survive, do so. These are generally the rich and powerful, and therefore, generally, white. As the outside world falls to anarchy, these groups recruit more and more outsiders in order to protect and sustain the underground cities in the short term as security, looting etc. These people are considered disposable.

Over time, these cities find common ground and decide an overall system of governance. By this point, the descendants of those who were considered disposable are still considered disposable; after all, the city was designed and built by the (White!) designers and builders for the (White!) inhabitants. Animals can live in the open air, so can darker peoples, so darker peoples are obviously more akin to animals than humans. Whiteness becomes enshrined as a sign of intelligence, good breeding, beauty, etc. and the only true sign of humanity. It may behoove the (White!) leaders not to demean themselves by lowering themselves to the level of those people who can live in the open air, since they are so obviously more akin to beast than man.

I do not see the jump from “It is more difficult for white people to survive on the surface” to “there is a topsy-turvy-turnaround in racial hierarchy and the tragic victims are the white folk”
