The sad thing - there are people who step back from this type of thing and say “Wow, I have that problem!”

The sadder thing - that ad execs are able to pitch these things in a way that maybe one in a hundred people will empathise with.

I always figured that the majority of things you see on Informercials started off with a small, defined market, primarily as lifestyle aids for the disabled or aids for specific working practices. And then… Mass production kicks in and it makes more sense to make a shitload, sell off a big portion to a company like JML who then… Blitz the shit out of anything they can get their hands on.
