Funkadelic – One Nation Under a Groove (19,467 plays)

“One Nation Under A Groove” by Funkadelic

There is a SERIOUS lack of this song on Tumblr! If you’ve got 7 minutes and 27 seconds to spare then you know what you’re doing for the next 7 minutes and 27 seconds.

Calligraphy robot uses a Motion Copy System to reproduce detailed brushwork

A week ago I posted the news of a robotic system that can record the brushwork input of calligraphy and technically reproduce it as well as the human artist. Now, DigInfo have a video demonstration of the rechnology in action:

A research group at Keio University, led by Seiichiro Katsura, has developed the Motion Copy System. This system can identify and store detailed brush strokes, based on information about movement in calligraphy. This enables a robot to faithfully reproduce the detailed brush strokes.

This system stores calligraphy movements by using a brush where the handle and tip are separate. The two parts are connected, with the head as the master system and the tip as the slave system. Characters can be written by handling the device in the same way as an ordinary brush.

Unlike conventional motion capture systems, a feature of this one is, it can record and reproduce the force applied to the brush as well as the sensation when you touch something. Until now, passing on traditional skills has depended on intuition and experience. It’s hoped that this new system will enable skills to be learned more efficiently.

Also, Mitt Romney says the “worst” part of Obamacare is that “the federal government will get between you and your doctor.” Just like Republicans do with patients and doctors at Planned Parenthood, right Mitt?

Jon Huntsman destroys Ron Paul in 60 seconds over his racist newsletters in New Hampshire. I love the music - so ominous!

Huntsman is polling higher than before, but is still polling fourth in New Hampshire. I’m curious if bringing the claws out might help that. Current averaged national polling:

  • Newt Gingrich: 27.2%
  • Mitt Romney: 25.4%
  • Ron Paul: 12.2%
  • Rick Perry: 6.6%
  • Michele Bachmann: 6.2%
  • Rick Santorum: 3.8%
  • Jon Huntsman: 2.0%

Oh, and progressives shouldn’t forget something very important: Ron Paul is not all legal weed and no war. Click for why he’d be a disaster.

Jon Huntsman is still the grownup in the room. I’ll give him an award for classiest attack ad of Election 2012 - thus far.

Is this the final nail in the coffin?

Of course not. Ron Paul fanboys will keep dismissing his racism long after he’s dead.

I don’t care what the liberals say, I don’t care what the naysayers say, this nation was founded as a Christian nation. …There’s only one God, and his name is Jesus. I’m tired of people telling me that I can’t say those words. I’m tired of people telling us as Christians that we can’t voice our beliefs or we can no longer pray in public. Listen to me. If you don’t love America, if you don’t like the way we do things I have one thing to say — get out!

…We don’t worship Buddha! I said we don’t worship Buddha, we don’t worship Muhammad, we don’t worship Allah, we worship God, we worship God’s son Jesus Christ.

The Reverend DENNIS TERRY, in remarks delivered at a rally for Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum at the Greenwell Springs Baptist Church in Louisiana yesterday.

Rick Santorum stood up and applauded these remarks, along with those from the Reverend denouncing homosexuality and abortion.

Because if you aren’t like Rick Santorum, then he doesn’t give a fuck about you.

Why? Why are these things allowed?! D:

Here, at the University of Leeds in the UK, these are just some of the posters we have made for 8TH Annual “Israeli Apartheid Week.”

Israeli Apartheid Week (IAW) is an annual international series of events held in cities and campuses across the globe. The aim of IAW is to educate people about the nature of Israel as an apartheid system and to build Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) campaigns as part of a growing global BDS movement.

Lectures, films, and actions will highlight some of the successes of the BDS movement and build / support ongoing campaigns. Speakers and full programme for each city will be available on this website. Join us in making this a year of struggle against apartheid and for justice, equality, and peace.

Racism 101: A Comprehensive Guide for 2012

This is a guide to answer some of your racial questions. I am not sure why we still need to explain some of these things in the year 2012 but here it is!

I will let you know that this is coming from my personal perspective so the races being spoken about are black and white. I am not intentionally leaving out other races. I can only speak from my own perspective.

15 things every good racist/non-racist should know

#gop candidate house sigils: full set

Yadda, yadda, blah blah. Kitacon!!

It feels as if I haven’t posted properly in freakin’ forever.

I do use Tumblr, I check it pretty much everyday, but I have nothing interesting to post and I don’t want to be one of those self-obsessed weirdos who just post pictures of themselves all the time.

But anyway, I booked a hotel room for Kitacon for Garner and I, wooo!! I registered for it as well, but didn’t realise you had to pay within 14 days, so going to have to be mega lame and let that run out and re-register and pay after the purse swallowing Christmas period is up! I’ve never been to a proper convention before (always just the one dayer, floaty about ones), so I’m very excited! My main fear is that it’ll be full of elitist twats and that people will automatically judge me as being conceited because I look after my appearance. But then my main hope is for lots of awesome, like-minded people to talk to, wayyyyyy :D

Biggest problem right now, it’s not until APRIL D:

So any of you pretties going to Kitacon this coming year? Or do you have any experiences to share from previous years? Any tips?

We’re gonna need guns.

Lots of guns.

If I can give you only one reason why public transportation is awesome, it’s that you could converse for half an hour with a stranger about the soothing comedy of political memes (because talking about the weather gets boring after a while).

During our conversation this evening, we decided the only good way to understand memes is in the context of understanding how this circus functions.
