Berniece Collins
The first African American woman to be a clown in “The Ringling Barnum and Bailey Circus”.

Side note:
At one point of my childhood my mom was a clown. It was realy cool, because I was in a lot of magic shops and what not. She use to bring me along to parties and I would be the little clown, and the children freakin’ loved it. One day my mom was driving with her blue wig and full face of make up, and some Blood pulled up to her and said, “You wearing the wrong color wig over here”… aaaah clowns getting banged on. *sigh*

My families excuse to make gumbo, play Pokeno, and burn up all the incense they own.

And beat the one drum they got in Leimert park in the 80’s…

"The Western arrogance of feeling that it has everything to teach others and noting to learn from them is not just. A true revolution of values will lay hands on the world order and say of war: ‘This way of settling differences is not just.’"
