males are disgusting even before they hit puberty
f_cking little entitled b_stard i hate men
Yes, sadly we are.
Seriously, we all need to consider how we’re bringing up the kids, especially the boys, in our lives. We need to reevaluate how we react to shit like this, which happens all the time. We need to think about what we’re sending out when this is deemed as ‘cute’ when actually we’re watching a little girl be repeatedly kissed when she’s constantly expressed she doesn’t want to. This type of thing is teaching boys that girls must always accept and be grateful for the attention and affection boys offer, even when the girls do not themselves want it, and that these boys are owed reciprocity.
From US Weekly, the dynamic and fabulous mommy and daughter duo, Jada and Willow, getting their surf on in Hawaii. I LOVE THIS.
why is it that the only time “society” cares about the “health” of their fellow community members is when those community members are fat? nobody gives a shit when our kids go hungry or die from abscessed teeth or untreated asthma, but motha fuck if you don’t have some “worried” mothafuckas up your asshole if ur fat….
not to mention when it comes to that no one ever talks about “health” as something that like, feels good and affects your average day-to-day happiness and can be really beneficial as a tool for figuring out how to make the most of your own life.
also, the kids thing, god, yes. i can’t tell you how many times i’ve seen a kid just like freaking out, unable to focus, unable to learn, unable to behave (& therefore more likely to perpetuate an antagonistic relationship between them and authority, them and their peers, to become more alienated and isolated and angry and afraid of school) and a BIG part of the root problem is literally just, they’re hungry. schools offer free breakfast but wow it’s so hard to convince kids to eat and i can’t blame them because most school breakfast, ew. this is why i lose my mind whenever anyone starts worrying about the caloric count of school breakfasts, i’m like, do you have any idea how many times i have begged a kid to for the love of god just drink a chocolate milk so they will go into the day having SOMETHING instead of NOTHING? (see also kids who come to bed just seriously exhausted because something in their neighborhood or home is making it impossible for them to sleep consistently…) some kids this summer i was able to notice this pattern and if you do (and if they’re older, and if they’re not hostile [not that they don’t have good reason to be hostile, just saying some things work different on different kids], and if and if and if…), sometimes you can notice a kid acting up or goofing around more than usual and pull them aside real quick and say “hey, i notice you’re having trouble keeping it together, did you eat breakfast this morning? no? are you hungry? yeah? well, yeah, i know when we’re hungry it’s really hard to concentrate, right? i know it’s really hard, i’m just gonna ask you to try to be strong and keep it together so you don’t distract your classmates, if you wanna take a break to put your head down that’s okay, do you think you can try?” and sometimes that’ll help, i don’t totally know why.
anyway. yes. yes. yes.
the food thing is something i’m *always always always* thinking about. and thinking about food justice and all those people who are always like “it’s cheap to eat vegan!” and all that—
the reality is that in places like detroit, flint, saginaw etc (post industrial spaces) where poverty is rampant and the gov just cut off food stamps and people are *literally* not just going hungry, but *starving*…
so so so so so SO many people in these areas and youth specifically—are only going to be eating once a day—*if they’re lucky*. the thing is tho—historically, we’ve *always* had this situation, where workers will only eat once a day—that’s why “working class food” is *always* heavy, greasy, thick, and huge. people today call it gross and disgusting and artery cloggers and heart attack makers and all that—and that’s true, cuz a lot of people are eating that type of food multiple times a day. but the quality of the food *sprang out of poverty*. for those people who could only eat once a day.
and i mean, raise your hand if you’ve eaten off the mc donald’s menu cuz u knew u were only going to be eating once that day. salad, even a million calorie salad off mc. donalds menu doesn’t fucking cut it.
as long as we keep making “healthy” and “food” always always always equal “lettuce greens and orange slices”—and “buying the right food at the right stores”—rather than: it’s not that people can’t afford to buy lettuce—it’s that people CAN’T AFFORD TO EAT (and there’s a difference, trust me) we will never ever ever EVER change *shit*. ever.
individual choices versus structural injustice. this is the crux of it, right here.

of all that is fucked up wrong with this picture—please PLEASE note: *anchor babies are US citizens*.
They are US Citizens.
Which demonstrates more than anything else that this debate is not about “doing things legally” or “protecting citizens” etc. This is about pure clean white supremacist heteropatriarchal/nationalism. who is allowed to reproduce? Who is allowed access to resources? who is allowed to be a citizen? who *decides* who is allowed to be a citizen? Who is considered *human*? who is allowed a childhood?
It disgusts me when adults attack little children with racist words. I remember not having the tools to deal with the things teachers and other adults told me because I didn’t know exactly what they were saying since it was in a foreign language (to me at the time). As an adult, I can’t imagine ever telling a child anything to make them feel badly about themselves. These are adorable children and deserve everything any child in this country deserve. It’s a tough world ahead of you so be tough, babies, you have no choice. <3
Shit like this makes me want to machete-chop assholes in the face. Forreal. They are KIDS! Children!
