When I am on the road, living of my suitcase, dreaming of days when I will hang my pictures on brightly lit walls… I remember this, I imagine a yellow house that will be my home one day, like a treasure box full of memories from my days on the road.

The Jahangir Mahal in Orchha, Madhya Pradesh, India is one of the most finest and vivid examples of classical Mughal architecture. The Jahangir Mahal was completed in the year 1598 by the then Mughal Prince Salem (later known as the Mughal Emperor Jahangir) in the city of Orchha.
It was built to be a garrison and a palace, that would allow the Mughals greater control over the rebellious Bandela. The domes of the palace, were built according to Timurid customs and its grand Iwans (rectangular halls) were specially built for the entry of war elephants.
